Simmons World Challenge: Consumption Scan #1

Screen Shot 2015-01-03 at 10.09.11 PM

I own 10 pairs of boots (including my horseback riding boots), 4 pairs of flats, 2 pairs of sneakers, and 3 pairs of what we’ll call “other.” What can be determined, aside from the fact I like boots? It’s too much. It really is too much for one person. It blatantly disregards the anatomically inevitable that I have just two feet, which lend themselves to one pair of shoes at a time. So why do I overbuy?

A simple scan of my closet at home and at Simmons showed some really scary results. At some point, everyone should do a “Consumption Scan” and truly look into what they need, versus what they want when it comes to purchasing power. What is it about consumer culture that draws us in? All that, and more, in my next blog post. Follow the link below to read!
